Frank Sinatra sings "Mack the Knife" at a 1980 Carnegie Hall performance. Watch guitarist Vinnie Bell's
wild gyrations on this number. The director and video crew insisted that Vinnie needed to "liven up" his playing,
by throwing his hands up in the air, as he played. It was all a "set-up", and the film crew ribbed him continuously,
after the show. Even Sinatra was in on the joke, and he told Vinnie, "Keep it up, Vinnie, and YOU'LL be the star!"


Vinnie's guitar is heard on the current hit series, FAMILY GUY.

This 1960s Vinnie Bell Signature guitar was used by the group Southern Culture on the Skids,
formed in Chapel Hill in 1985. The guitar is autographed by Dunn, North Carolina native 'Link Wray',
creator of the power chord. The guitar is now on loan to the "North Carolina Museum of History",
and is prominently displayed with a number of other "historically significant"
musical  instruments of North Carolina!
